Where's a good place to eat in Market Harborough?

At The Village, on St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough you’ll find one of the best affordable cafes in town. The Village Kitchen prides itself on serving tasty, nutritious, organic lunches as we really believe good food should be an option for everyone. Each month we have delicious specials with prices ranging from £5 - £7. Alongside these you can also choose from baked potato and beans (you can’t beat a jacket potato!), and vegan sosrolls and Corn’ish pasties from local caterers FarrinHeight Foods.

We have a breakfast menu that is served all day and starts from £1, which includes a selection of toasts, English muffins, cereals and beans on toast.

Taking your kids out for lunch in Market Harborough? You’ll find a menu for them too. With pasta, picky plates, soup, baked potatoes and beans on toast they’ll get a good lunch for only £2 to £4. We’ve also got 50p cordial and a cup of milk for £1. We don’t think it should cost a fortune to go out for lunch as a family, especially when you’re trying to keep things affordable over the school holidays.

Meeting a friend for a coffee? You can’t go wrong with a mug of Jute filter coffee, and you get a FREE refill - as chatting with a friend always takes longer than one drink! For tea lovers, we’ve got a brilliant selection of Tealicious Ltd teas including British Brew, Earl Grey, Mint, Green, Rooibos, Chai and Berry. We’ve also got lots of cold drink options or just serve yourself a water from our water station.

Then, last but by no means least, we always have delicious home made cakes available too! They always receive great feedback. They often include flapjack, chocolate brownies, banana cakes, sponges, muffins and who remembers School cake?! You’ll find gluten-free cake too, including mouth-wateringly good ginger cake and cookies.

All of our lunches, breakfasts and cakes are vegan but – if you’re not vegan – don’t let that put you off! We’re not meaning to insult anyone with that statement but people say “I don’t like vegan food” but then they try it and find it’s just food! If you haven’t tried vegan food before then order the mince with some toast or a baked potato. It honestly is so good and there is still cow's milk for your tea, coffee and cereal!

The Village Kitchen is situated in the main room at The Village (formally the Eco Village) which is a 3 minute walk from Market Harborough town centre or there is free parking at the front and public car parks nearby (how to find us). We’re home to a great range of independent businesses, if you want to do some shopping whilst you are here, and The Paint Pottle. Tie in a pottery painting session with something from the café. It’s a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. The Paint Pottle sessions are 10am – 12noon and 2pm – 4pm. Email claire@thepaintpottle.co.uk to book.
